Robert Orf, President
Bob Orf began his career in 1975 with the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he spent almost five years in the bureau’s counter intelligence division. He began his technical career in 1979 as a consultant with Time Sharing Resources (TSR), a New York-based time-sharing company. During his tenure with TSR, Bob worked with more than a dozen Fortune 500 companies. He helped oversee such diversified areas as communication network design, communication satellite traffic management, forecasting, market research, general ledger and sales tracking.
In 1987, Bob became one of the founders of OKRA Marketing Corporation, a database marketing firm which grew to 130 employees strong. Bob designed and developed the company’s initial mainframe and personal computer (PC) based householding and PC based access systems. John H. Harland Company acquired OKRA in 1996 and retained Bob to manage the Tampa office.
In 1998, Harland chose to relocate the Tampa-based resources. Rather than relocate, Bob saw a perfect opportunity to form a new company. Retaining members of his finely honed staff of expert programmers and analysts, Bob left Harland in 1999 to form DataMentors.
